Is the Sift in Minecraft 1.26?
Not announced. Minecraft 1.26 era updates in 2026 (including Bedrock hotfix 1.26.52) are unrelated to the Sift. No version number has been attached to the Sift.

How do you get to the Sift?
In Minecraft: not announced. In Dungeons II: through rifts in the Overworld, or via the Deep Dark portal in an ancient city opened with a note-block machine.

What mobs are in the Sift?
For Minecraft, the blub (passive, rabbit-like) is community-reported. Dungeons II has a full cast: Sifters, Sculkers, bosses Monarch and Sculk Monstrosity, the Singer, and more.

Is the Sift the same in Dungeons II and Minecraft?
Mojang says it is not yet detailing how the Minecraft version will differ. Expect differences; only the blub and a pink meadow have been shown for Minecraft.

Is the Sift related to sculk and the Deep Dark?
In Dungeons II, yes: the Sift is sculk's original home and is entered through the ancient-city portal. For Minecraft this link has not been stated.

Is this the first new dimension since the End?
Yes. The End arrived in November 2011. Mojang says "over 14 years"; by 2027 it will be closer to 15 or 16.

What is "Wellspring"?
The internal codename. A Dungeons II YouTube short was published as "Wellspring Gameplay" on August 20, 2026 and renamed "The Sift Gameplay" the next day.

No. Those come from fan-made mods published after the announcement.

Will there be a Sift snapshot?
Nothing has appeared in any Java snapshot or Bedrock preview as of October 2026. Large features usually get test builds months ahead of release, so 2027 is the earliest realistic expectation.
